The October 2017 Las Vegas Shooting

Published on October 2, 2017 by

Today was a sad day for the US and for the whole world. In a world with guns at anyone’s discretion, it seems that mass shootings happen and will happen.

In Las Vegas, on the strip, at a music festival, during a melody of Jason Aldean, machine gunshots were heard. In the first 10-15 seconds, no-one understood what happened. Some witnesses told to the newscasters that they thought a helicopter was flying by.

The cruel truth is that a 64 y.o local-man, named Stephen Paddock, broke the window of his 32-floor room of the Mandalay Bay Hotel and started shooting the people from the music festival which was 500 meters away. The crowd didn’t know from where the shots were fired so they drop on the ground. This was a bad decision, unfortunately, because the shooter was 32 floors above the ground, and the people became sure-targets for the shooter.

At this moment (during the writing of this article) at least 58 people lost their lives and more than 500 were injured. This is the worst shooting attack in the history of the United States.
